Michika — Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This policy explains what the Michika service ("we", "us") collects, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work — your Apple sign-in identifier, your conversations (so your companion has memory), and the locations you ask to navigate to — and nothing for advertising. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other apps.
2. What we collect and why

3. Who processes it
We use a small set of processors, each receiving only what their function needs:
- Apple — sign-in and billing.
- Google Cloud (Tokyo region) — hosting and database.
- AI model providers (currently OpenAI and Google) — receive conversation content to generate replies.
- Google Maps Platform — receives the coordinates and place queries needed to compute routes and show maps.
- Speech-synthesis infrastructure — receives only the text of replies to generate the character's voice.
Processing happens in Taiwan, Japan, the United States, and other regions where these providers operate. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Retention and deletion
- Account data and conversations are kept while your account is active.
- Deleting your account (in the app, or by revoking Sign in with Apple for Michika) marks it deleted immediately; associated personal data is removed from active systems within 30 days, with residual copies leaving backups on their rotation schedule.
- Aggregate, non-identifying statistics may be retained.
5. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS); data is encrypted at rest; production access is limited and audited; payment card data never touches our systems.
6. Children
Michika is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet the age in our Terms to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. For any request, contact support@michika.app — we will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes
We will post updates to this policy here and note material changes in the app. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
